President Trump held a rally August 22nd 2017, in Phoenix Arizona. Most of the rally was the usual speech, bash the media and stick to the typical talking points to get his base energized. He read from a list of his quotes about Charlottesville stating every time he said there was no place for racism, hatred or bigotry. He also pointed out that the media would say that “He was late” or “He didn’t say it soon enough” or the best one, “He waited too long so he must be racist”. Trump said, “They say they have sources, but they don’t have sources. They never reported that I said racism is bad and they wonder why their ratings are so bad. The media is totally dishonest.”
Today’s media is not what it used to be. The news is supposed to report the news from an unbiased point of view, but this way of reporting is fading fast. Never has a President been attacked by the media as President Trump, but it’s not the fact that he is being attacked that’s disturbing, it’s for what reasons he is being attacked. After the Charlottesville incident, on the same day, President Trump stated “We’re closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides” he later added “that the hate and division must stop and it must stop right now” and “What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order, and the protection of innocent lives” From that point forward the news was littered with headlines about Trump being a racist.
The media isn’t only reporting the negative slant against Trump, they also seem to take the side of the anti-Trump or the antifa group that shows up to the rally’s. Most news outlets reported the same talking points, President Trump held a rally in Pheonix today, there were supporters and there were demonstrators, and the usual multiple interviews and quotes from the anti-Trump side, but what they always seem to miss is the fact that the supporters of President Trump show up hours before the rally, and are hit with a barrage of protesters and people trying to start a fight with them. Yelling at them and getting in their face, desperately trying to get a reaction because they know, if a reaction occurs the media has their back and the Trump supporter will be accused of being violent. Saba Hamedy, CNN wrote an article titled “Police spray tear gas at protesters following Trump’s Phoenix rally.” In this article she states fifteen anti-Trump quotes and you guessed it zero quotes from Trump supporters. She did however put a picture on her article that showed a very small group of people who supported Trump. Good try Saba, but your just another typical liberal with no future.
In the end four people were arrested and two officers were treated for heat exhaustion. I bet you know what side the four people were on. That’s right the “peaceful” anti Trump demonstrators. After the rally the supporters who attended the rally left. The protesters decided to stick around and show their maturity and stomp their feet and throw a tantrum, until the police finally stepped in and fired tear gas into the crowd. I think this part is very telling, the supporters who had to sit through hours of verbal abuse from the agitators, went to the rally, heard what President Trump had to say and then went home. The agitators were there for hours before and after the rally, why not, it’s not like they have to go to work the next day, maybe if they put all that energy in to something useful they wouldn’t be so angry all the time. But then again, most of them were getting paid to be there, so I guess they were already at work.
